There's also some depth, especially when it comes to all the customization and loadout elements. Most of the battles involve aerial maneuvers, which are exciting, and surprisingly simple to control despite having three dimensions to play around with during combat. It's a great-looking game, with attractive special effects showcasing the futuristic fighting among the war machines, but unfortunately, some of this is weakened when the system is docked on a big-screen TV. Especially since the Nintendo Switch is somewhat limited in power and performance compared to the other consoles, it really does look (and feel good) in your hand. The first thing you'll notice about Daemon X Machina are the attractive visuals in this sci-fi action thriller. Base building mechanics and recruitment similar to Mgs 5 and mgs peace walker, a mass production mechanic that would use the aquired blueprints, mechs, weapons, and vehicles that I previously mentioned on number 7, so that said recruits could use them in battle alongside you and to protect said base that was built.While this shooter has some fun gameplay and great graphics, the action does grow a little tiresome after a short while. Better side content that ties into the main story and that has a high reward.ġ2. Better gameplay outside of your mech, like being able to equip weapons, body, armor, and have enemy troops on the ground to shoot.ġ0. Mechs, and vehicles, or actually stealing these items themselves for a higher reward being that you can use them in battle immediately.Ĩ. More missions and varied mission objectives, for example, a mission where you have to sneak into an enemy base or lab on foot, in order to steal blueprints for weapons. There's super low incentive for anyone but the most die hard mech fans and those nostalgic of the old mech games to purchase these games. What we ended up getting with DxM was a restylized version of the same armored core that we've played since the early 00s. Instead, you just get new gear, which is most of the time just a slightly better or different type of gear from what you already have. Towards that latter point, it's rare that you really feel like you are progressing in a way that you are becoming more powerful. They needed a way of getting around the clunkiness for lighter mechs, better melee mechanics, a wider array of incentives for replayability, perhaps some sort of transformation mechanic, and a better sense of mech development. I did end up getting this game, but my hopes were pretty high for it only for them to get dashed immediately. This is one of the least I innovative genres by far.
